Trump Versus Corona: Who is the real virus?

President Donald Trump made serious missteps in addressing COVID-19.

On February 26, President Trump addressed and briefed the American people on the current state of the coronavirus in the United States.

There, he deferred from his previous Twitter statements to address that, in fact, the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has made its way to the United States and has already taken a United States citizen’s life.

While addressing the death of the first American reported to die from the virus, Mr. Trump mistakenly referred to the late American as a “Wonderful woman,” when in fact “she” was actually a “he.”

Unsurprisingly, Mr.Trump handed the pandemic over to his vice president Mike Pence proving Mr. Trump is seemingly useless at confronting such a crisis. This is an observation many Americans have made throughout the past four years.

Yes, of course Mr. Trump, it is a wonderful idea to hand the pandemic over to the man who does not believe in evolution, climate change, and did close to nothing to prevent the HIV outbreak in Indiana during his time as Governor. But hey, you are the one who asked him to be your Vice President.

It is such Trump fashion to give vital roles to those who are completely uneducated or suited for the scenario. It almost seems like a joke.

Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer issued a statement Thursday in which they said the U.S. government “must do more to address the spread of the deadly coronavirus in a smart, strategic, and serious way.”

Trump and his administration, along with Fox News (apparently the only “right” news) and the mass following of  MAGA supporters, have created a narrative that “do nothing Dems’’ have over exaggerated the pandemic and have politicized it.

Trump’s supporters further claim that democrats are purposefully turning this into a huge ordeal to blame the repblican-run White House and Senate. This is complete blasphemy! Are Republicans really this vain and shallow to stand behind this insane claim?

Democrats are not blowing this pandemic out of proportion. In actuality, the Republicans have downplayed this virus in fear of the harm it may cause Mr. Trump’s poll numbers during the 2020 election.

And what good has downplaying the virus done for the U.S.? The total number of cases in the U.S. continues to grow by the day.

Mr. Trump has called the virus a `hoax”. However this foolishness is not surprising. This is the same man who led the witch hunt on former President Obama’s birth certificate and claims climate change is a Chinese hoax. Also let’s not forget, he was, in fact, impeached.

This false narrative of “fake news” and the “alternative facts” are what cause chaos. By falsely informing the public about the current state of the coronavirus, the government has failed its people and created confusion.

This pandemic has revealed the corruption within the media and the President’s abuse of mis-informing his people. We should not have to fact-check every word spoken by the president–especially not on something as serious as a pandemic. We should just be able to assume that the President and his administration are doing what’s right for the nation, not what will benefit the President alone.
